Contemporary Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy

Contemporary Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is based on the very same understandings as those that are the foundation of psychoanalysis: how we humans function when we are helped to be our best selves; how we manifest our suffering when we have not had good-enough help from the start; and the kinds of feeling, thinking and relating that ameliorate our difficulties. Since it is typically scheduled with sessions once or twice a week, it  may be less intense than more frequent analysis, and so may take longer for the full effect to be experienced. But this is not a hard and fast claim. It takes a deep commitment on both of our parts to achieve your goals, regardless of frequency. Either way, the journey inevitably includes facing some painful aspects of your life and of your responses to it, in order that we may free you to be more alive, more authentic and able to create a richer and more meaningful life.
